E. Reiley Aikman Scholarship

This scholarship was the first to be awarded by the detachment.  It is administered by the Department of Pennsylvania, and is awarded according to the criteria established by the Dept of PA, MCL Scholarship Committee. The amount of the scholarship is determined by the Department and is awarded at the Department Convention.

The funds for the scholarship were donated by the Detachment and are in the Department Restricted Scholarship Fund.

Edward J Hogg Scholarship

Downingtown West High School
Chester County, PA
This is the second scholarship established by the Chester County Detachment, MCL.
The selection of the scholarship recipient is done by the School. It  is awarded to the graduating student with the highest GPA, who will be entering the U.S. Marine Corps.
Currently, it is a $400 US Bond.

Brandon M. Hardy
Air Force Jr. ROTC Scholarship
Coatesville High School
Chester County PA

The selection of the scholarship recipient is done by the School. It is given to the graduating Jr. ROTC cadet with the highest grade point average.  It is generally presented by a Detachment representative at the Graduation ceremony.  In 2007, the Detachment voted to rename this scholarship in honor of Cpl  Brandon M. Hardy, after he was killed in Iraq.
Currently it is a $400 US Bond

William J. Dunn Scholarship
Downingtown East HS
The Chester County Unit,  MCL Auxiliary unit has established and funded this scholarship  honoring another of our members, William J. Dunn, whose wife is active in the unit.
